Software start-ups get funding up to €50k

Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, today announced the 15 start-up companies that have been awarded funding from Enterprise Ireland.

The Competitive Start Fund (CSF) is geared toward software and IT start-ups that are deemed to have the potential to succeed on a global scale. It provides the companies with up to €50,000 of investment as well as input and direction from experienced business people. The winning companies develop software in areas that include mobile applications, payment systems, gaming and travel.

Minister Bruton stated: “If we are to get out of this crisis, we must work hard to create an indigenous engine of growth. While multinational investment in Ireland is and will remain crucial, it is vital that we find ways of enabling our indigenous firms to perform better and take full advantage of export opportunities.”
